The auction of a substantial 180 acre farm located at Oldtown, Co Longford was postponed last week. The property was to go to public auction on 16 August but a substantial seven figure offer is believed to have been made prior to the sale.

The auction is postponed to allow the vendors to consider the offer. The residential farm is located in the rural countryside of Ardagh with the property being traditionally used as a beef enterprise but could also accommodate equestrian interest with 10 loose boxes in place on the farm.

One of the big draws of the property is the period residence built around 1845. The house is two-storey over basement and while it is in need of some refurbishments, as a whole it has been well maintained.

The sale of the property is being handled by Sherry FitzGerald McGill.
