A 187ac residential farm near Trim, Co Meath is possibly the largest farm to come to the market since the coronavirus pandemic hit Irish shores. The property at Kilmurray is an operational dairy farm that is currently milking over 200 cows. The farm has been operated as a partnership between two brothers for many years, according to a spokesperson for the selling agent. The brothers are retiring from farming and their exit strategy was to sell when they retired.

This property provides a rare opportunity to purchase nearly 200ac all in one block. The selling agent says that it is a well maintained property that has a developed farmyard capable of housing over 400 head of stock, including calves and replacement heifers, at peak times.

This farm has a deep drainage system. There was always streams and drains of up to 8ft running through it, but the current owners have kept it very well. The farm roadways are all maintained to a high standard. There’s a farm road servicing every inch of it.”

The property does not have a large amount of road frontage. The farmyard is out near the road and the residence is adjacent to the yard. It is a four-bedroom house that has oil fired central heating and is described as being “in good condition”.

Meath had the third-highest price for agricultural land in the country in 2019, averaging €12,764/ac according to the Irish Farmers Journal land price survey.

This property will be auctioned, but a date will not be set until social distancing restrictions due to COVID-19 are lifted, the selling agents said.
