Advanced CAP payments worth 70% of claims are to be issued to Northern Ireland (NI) farmers from Wednesday, DAERA has confirmed.

In a statement, DAERA said that the first payments are expected to reach farmers’ bank accounts from Monday 21 October 2019.

Fully verified claims

Farmers with fully verified claims will be eligible for advanced payments. It is the fourth year in a row that DAERA has issued advanced payments to NI farmers and the fourth year that the rate has been increased from 50% to 70% of claims.

“Advance payments will continue to be issued on a daily basis until early November,” the DAERA statement reads.

NI remains the only region of the United Kingdom to issue advance payments

Balance payments, or full payments for those that were not eligible for an advance payment, will be issued from 2 December 2019.

“NI remains the only region of the United Kingdom to issue advance payments and the Department is making every effort to process advance payments to as many farm businesses as possible,” DAERA said.
