A batch of Synolux tubes have been recalled by the Veterinary Medicine Directorate (VMD) in the UK with a return date to market set for June 2020.

Supply issues could also impact Irish farmers as the Health Products Regulatory Authority has limited the supply of the product to an “as needed basis.”

A spokesperson for Zoetis, which manufactures Synolux, said the issue stemmed from an active ingredient but that it had not received increased reports of adverse reactions “since the time that the batches concerned were placed on the market in Ireland and in other countries”.

Norbrook-manufactured Multiject IMM tubes will not return to the market in the UK or Ireland until summer but Combiclav LC is still available. Boehringer-manufactured Ubro Yellow tubes have been discontinued completely.
