Located just outside Tullow, Co Carlow, is Broughan Engineering, owned and run by brothers Paul and Patrick Broughan. The firm is well known across the island of Ireland for its extensive range of agricultural trailers.

Not only is the firm known in Ireland but across Europe too with trailers working in country’s including France, Germany, Sweden and Denmark and even as far away as Australia.

And lately, the Carlow-based firm has completed an order destined for Manitoba, Canada.

The first four trailers have been built and have begun their journey to a new Canadian dealer H & L Motors.

Broughan Engineering has recently shipped its first trailers to a new dealer in Canada.

The first shipment consists of two 20ft and two 22ft tandem axle trailers complete with hydraulic doors, 6ft sides and 2ft silage extensions. Other features include hydraulic jacks and grain chutes to mention just a few. The trailers are shod on BKT 560/60 R22.5 tyres.

It is believed the trailers are being shipped from Dublin port to Liverpool and from Liverpool onwards to Halifax Harbour in Nova Scotia, Canada. Once docked the trailers will travel roughly another 3,500km before arriving at their destination in Manitoba.
