Claas is set to introduce its most powerful forager offering to date, with the 925hp Jaguar 990 surpassing the 980.

There will be a range of updates to the 900 series for the 2020 season. There is a move towards Stage V-compliant MAN engines. The 800 series models will not get Stage V engines until the second half of 2020.

Both 990 and 980 foragers are fitted with 24l V12 MAN engines, while the 970 model makes the move to a 790hp 16l straight-six. The 960 and 940 models also see power increases.

Touchscreen Cebis

New 900 series models will also come with the new Cebis touchscreen and new armrest console similar to the new Lexion. The 800 series will later follow with these updates in autumn 2020.

Other new features for 2020 include dynamic steering on 900 series models. This allows operators to go from lock to lock in just one and a quarter revolutions of the steering wheel.

As speeds go from 10km/h to 20km/h, the number of revolutions required increase accordingly.

A new 42-blade V-Max drum is now offered on machines from the 970 upwards, capable of chopping to lengths as short as 3.5mm. The cylinder can be run with as few as 14 knives.

The feeder house on the 900 series also sees some updates, with a reinforced feed roller and larger wear plates. Cemos Automatic is now available on 900 series machines, allowing the operator to set target parameter whereby the harvester adjusts engine power or forward speed accordingly for increased productivity.

The 800 series benefits from an updated transmission, with the rear axle now capable of running larger 620/55 R26 tyres.

A new 4.5m Orbis maize header has been launched. New features include a tilting frame concept and redesigned crop lifting fingers.
