Two students from Waterford IT have received the Dairymaster Student Award which recognises the achievements of ag science degree students with the best final year project presentations.

Thomas Duffy, national president Macra na Feirme, Dr Michael Breen, Waterford IT, Mark Reidy, Croom, Co Limerick, Waterford IT, ag sc student and winner of Dairymaster bursary with Pat Gaynor, president of the Irish Holstein Friesian Association (IHFA) and professor Edmond Harty, Dairymaster CEO and technical director.

The awards went to Mark Reidy from Croom, Co Limerick, and Leanne Connell from Kells, Co Meath.

Mark was nominated for his work on his final year project which compared computerised calf feeding systems to conventional once and twice a day feeding systems.

Leanne was nominated for her work on C16 fat supplementation to dairy cows.
