A special sale on in-lamb ewes and ewe lambs organised by the NI Suffolk Society at Ballymena Mart saw plenty of buyers competing hard for quality replacement females and new bloodlines.

The pre-show champion was awarded to William Montgomery, Comber, Co Down, and his shearling ewe topped the sale at 3,200gns.

Reserve champion was awarded to Patrick Donnelly, Ballymena. His prize-winning animal sold to 1,100 gns.

In total, 57 in-lamb shearling ewes sold to an average of 651gns, with 13 ewe lambs selling to an average of 481gns.

In-lamb ewes sold to a top of 1,600gns, with 45 lots averaging 527gns.
