On Saturday 24 August, Ballymena Livestock Market held another one of its machinery auctions where 1,175 items were up for sale, with 847 selling on the day.

Various different machinery items were for sale, with some higher-priced machinery making nearly £4,500.

Other items included shear grabs, quads, loading shovels, meal bins, portable cattle crushes, trailers, slurry tankers and many more.

The next machinery auction is due to take place on 16 November.

Here are some of the top items that sold at the auction:

One bidder purchased this 6.5t Kane trailer which has been adapted to transport grain for £1,120.

This Ifor Williams 8x4 sheep trailer sold for £1,100.

One particular bidder bought this three-point linkage post driver for £2,000.

This Ifor Williams car transport trailer gathered interest at the auction, selling for £1,550 on the day.

This Abbey rotaspread manure spreader was purchased for £1,000.

Some of the top-priced items not pictured above included:

  • A 21ft bale trailer that sold for £4,200.
  • A dump trailer that made £3,400.
  • 16ft grain trailer that sold for £1,450.
  • 12t silage trailer that sold for £1,400.
  • A selection of vehicles were available, with one Kia Sportage making £4,350.
  • Numerous Stihl saws sold for around £165 on average.
  • One Hawk power washer sold for £325.
  • One universal Nuttfield tractor made £680.
