Irish Machinery Auctions held a machinery auction on Saturday 7 September on behalf of Brian Duncan of Duncan Fencing at his premises in Dungourney, Co Cork.

Around 270 various machinery and other agricultural items were up for sale.

Trade was lively and very strong at the auction, with 250 items selling on the day, resulting in a clearance rate of 92%.

A selection of tractors, trailers, low-loaders, excavators, slurry tankers, fuel bowsers and farm vehicles were available with certain items making over €60,000.

Each item sold was subject to 23% VAT and commission rates varied as follows:

  • Items up to €5,000 were subject to 12% commission plus VAT.
  • Items from €5,001 to €10,000 = 10% commission plus VAT.
  • Items from €10,001 to €25,000 = 7.5% commission plus VAT.
  • Items from €25,001 to €50,000 = 5% commission plus VAT.
  • Items above €50,000 = 2.5% commission plus VAT.
  • The next machinery auction is due to take place on Saturday 21 September.

    The auction

    The hammer fell at €1,250 for this 2006 Bogballe twin disc fertiliser spreader.

    One bidder managed to purchase this clean Chieftain tri-axle (10.5m) low loader which comes with ramps for €3,000.

    This 2014 Case CX130 digger with only 5,636 hours and equipped with a bucket, front, rear and side cameras caught bidders' attention, selling for €40,500.

    One bidder aquired this 2016 Cushman hauler 4x4 diesel utility vehicle with only 1,034 hours for €3,700.

    A bidder at the auciton managed to pick up this 2008 Cashels 300 ADR fast tow fuel bowser ideal for fuelling machines across different sites for €1,700.

    This 2016 Airman AX55-U zero tail digger with only 2,779 hours which comes with a vector powerdrive hydraulic post driver, bucket and blade sold for €39,000.

    There was plenty of interest in this 2012 John Deere 6930, as it sold for €26,000.

    This Major LGP 2,600-gallon slurry tanker sold for €3,600.

    One person purchased this McHale 6ft 6in shear grab for €200.

    This 2016 John Deere 6150M with a Quicke front loader and showing only 4,362 hours on the clock sold for €64,000.

    A second 2005 tri-axle Chieftain low loader with ramps and a removable front guard was purchased for €7,400.

    The hammer fell at €1,300 for this Tighe 10ft buckrake.

    This Quicke Q65 power loader made €3,000.

    A RedRock 14t dump trailer went for €5,250 at the auction.

    This Ifor Williams tri-axle drop-side trailer ideal for transporting larger items sold for €1,450.

    This 2010 Fendt 820 Vario went under the hammer for €22,000.

    One bidder purchased this 10t Chieftain single-axle stone cart on wide flotion wheels with a dual-side dispenser for €4,400.
