Kverneland claims its new generation of mounted and semi-mounted reversible ploughs have safer transport features and higher performance at the forefront. Many of the new features on these ploughs were incorporated into the design of the iplough, which was launched in 2017.

Transport

To maximise safety, the new plough behaves like a trailer. The pivot point of tractor/plough is in the middle. It curves; there is no tilting out.

Leg design

Kverneland has said the aero-profile design of the legs and the 80cm under beam clearance improve the soil flow in high residues conditions.

Previously using a box-iron type leg, the new legs are pre-shaped to limit welding that could weaken plough parts. As with previous Kverneland auto-reset legs, they remain hollow to reduce weight and pulling forces.

The leaf springs of the auto-reset can be easily added or removed, depending on the necessary release forces. This mechanical leg protection system is the same as what is used on the 2500 i-Plough. The skimmers can be centrally adjusted. The right and left working depth can also be adjusted simultaneously, saving time.

Mounted ploughs

The new model names will apply to all new ploughs following the Kverneland 2500 i-Plough. The new mounted models are the 2300, 3300 and 3400. The higher the number, the more powerful the tractor can be. The three new models have the Variomat feature for easy working width changes from the tractor cab. This is easily done either mechanically or hydraulically. Depending on models, it can be adjusted from 30cm to 55cm. The Auto-line system guarantees the correct pulling line at any time. When changing the working width, both front furrow width and pulling line adjust accordingly, automatically. This system is maintenance free due to the non-wearing linkage joint between the beams and the mainframe section.

Semi-mounted

The Kverneland 6300 S Variomat model is the first plough of the new generation of semi-mounted reversible ploughs.

The 6300 S Variomat features a rear-mounted wheel. Kverneland has noted that its rear position and large dimensions (440/80x24) increase stability and enable a well-balanced weight transfer from the plough wheel to the tractor’s rear wheels. This model is available from six to eight furrows, with 100cm and 115cm interbody clearance.

The 6300 S Variomat can be ordered from fourth quarter 2019 for delivery first quarter 2020.
