Land Rover claims to have transformed the new Discovery Sport to make it more efficient and technologically advanced, as well as offering greater practicality, keeping its occupants safe and comfortable in any conditions.

The mid-size SUV comes with a new infotainment interface and the latest connectivity.

It claims a more flexible seating arrangement with up to 24 combinations.

Land Rover is giving Discovery Sport owners a range of engine choices including a new efficient hybrid-electric power drive with 48-volt MHEV, 3-cylinder PHEV or three- and four-cylinder Ingenium petrol and diesel engines.

This new Discovery Sport is claimed to be more spacious with small and large stowage spaces and up to 1,794 litres in load space with all seats folded. A new five-plus-two seating arrangement is available to give limited seven-seat capacity. Prices are due soon.

Nissan boosts its Leaf electric range

Nissan in Ireland has launched a new 62kwh version of the Leaf which it claims offers customers more driving range, with up to 385km on a single charge. This longer-range Leaf available to order now in SV Premium and SVE grades with pricing starting from €37,840.

The new model also includes some upgraded technology features, including new NissanConnect connectivity services with features including Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto allowing for seamless smartphone connectivity.

Customers also benefit from an upgraded navigation system, which features TomTom LIVE premium traffic and route optimisation, as well as the in-built online map update facility and chargers location functionality.
