Argo Tractors, distributors of Landini and McCormick tractors in Ireland, were out in force at this year’s National Ploughing Championships. Among the many tractors on display was a new Landini with a stepless CVT lower down the horsepower scale. This was its first appearance in Ireland.

The Landini 6-145C LS V-Shift in question is a variant of the 6C Series. This series previously only came with a semi-powershift transmission. The V-Shift transmission is designed in-house by Landini at its base in Italy. V-Shift versions of the Landini 6-145C come to ‘LS’ spec as standard. This means they get load-sensing variable output hydraulics with up to 110-litre/min from the pump.

The 6C range is powered by a 4.5-litre Stage IV engine from FPT Industrial, a similar engine to that which is used in Case IH and New Holland tractors.

Depending on the model, this engine has power outputs of 114hp, 121hp and 130hp. It’s equipped with a Dual Power boost. This boost will kick in automatically when operating PTO-driven equipment. It also kicks in when travelling on the road to boost outputs to 121hp, 133hp and 140hp.

Weighing in at 5,200kg, it has a maximum permissible weight of 8,500kg. Cab and front-axle suspension is available as an option on 40km/h versions, while it comes as standard on the 50km/h gearing option along with oil-immersed disc brakes in the front axle. The front axle has wishbone mountings for each wheel to allow independent movement.

Prices for the The Landini 6-145C LS V-Shift start at €68,563 excluding VAT.
