Despite winter weather conditions throughout the day, the Virginia Agricultural Show kept motoring on with die-hard pedigree cattle exhibitors sticking it out to claim the top awards up for grabs. The show attracted three different breed club finals along with a packed catalogue of other classes.

The day finished with overall interbreed championship which saw the top of each breed fight it out for the top accolade.

Results

After much deliberation judge Alan Farrow eventually tapped forward the Limousin as supreme champion. The January 2018-born heifer, Milbrook Nenya, from well-known breeder William Smith, Oldcastle, is no stranger to success having collected a number of interbreed championships throughout the summer. Sired by the renowned Wilodge Vantastic, this stylish heifer was also the top animal in her breed at this years Balmoral Show back in May.

Standing reserve in the supreme championship was the pick of the Charolais animals on show, Liscally Natalie 2 ET.

Born September 2017, this heifer was exhibited by Adam and William Woods of Ballyconnell, Co Cavan. This rising two-year-old heifer is a daughter of one of the most in-demand Charolais bulls at the moment, Goldstar Echo.
