The sudden death of Pat Minnock last August left a void in the lives of family, friends and clients alike. Pat was a well-known agricultural consultant who had the enviable knack of being able to mix business with pleasure, enjoy life and was always very pleasant company. He was taken from this life during a family gathering in Santiago de Compostela in Spain, having just completed 120km of the Camino.

While best known for his business in Carlow, Pat was born in Clare and spent most of his childhood in Roscommon. His career in agriculture began in Warrenstown College in 1972 and then on to UCD where he specialised in horticulture.

After college, he worked in Quinns of Baltinglass for many years before setting up Minnock Agri Enterprises in 1991.

He was best known as an agricultural consultant and he and his wife Mary developed a good business around Carlow and beyond. They were in the process of retiring and selling the business at the time of his death but that was not to be. The business has since been sold.

Tillage became his speciality and crop walking was his therapy. He measured success by his ability to help his clients through a whole range of disciplines. During his career, he served as president of the Agricultural Consultants Association and was chairman of the Irish Tillage Consultants Association.

We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife Mary, children Kevin, Padraic and Clare, their families and Pat’s siblings.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.
