The second episode of Big Week On The Farm hit our screens last night on RTÉ One.

The show is broadcast from Stamullen, Co Meath on the farm of Ivan and Francis Curran.

Part of last night's show was the reveal of a "pimped-out tractor" – a 1980 Leyland 282 tractor belonging to Ivan which was done up for him as a surprise.

Modifications to the machine included a chrome roof, tinted windows, camoflague wrap, flashing beacons and Ivan's name printed on the side of the machine.

Ivan spoke to the Irish Farmers Journal after the show and explained that he is happy with his tractor's "new look" and does not plan on changing it back.

"I think it looks great, I will always remember Big Week On The Farm when I look at the tractor, I won't forget it.

"I will leave the tractor the way it is, I just need to get the clutch done in it now. Other than that she is perfect, ready to rock."

Another highlight for last night's viewers was the jam-making competition, which saw Joan Blake from Co Wexford, Eileen Mahon from Co Meath and Alice Sheehan also from Co Wexford go head-to-head in a "jam-off". The jams were judged by celebrity chef Kevin Dundon, who assess them based on colour, taste and texture.

Ninety-one year-old Alice Sheehan from Killinerian, Co Wexford, took home the rosette for the best jam.

Alice Sheehan, 91, from Wexford was the winning of the jam-making competition.

“My secret is a little bit of gooseberries, because there is lots of pectin in them," Alice said.

"When I came up here this evening I didn’t think I was going to win because that other ladies were also very good."

The third episode of Big Week On The Farm will go live on air this evening at 7pm on RTÉ One.
