A proposal will be submitted to the EU Commission to increase TAMs funding for pig and poultry farmers.

Currently, pig and poultry farmers can avail of up to €80,000, but under the proposal this would be raised to €200,000.

TAMs

Under the existing provisions in TAMs grant aid is available at a rate of 40% of expenditure.

“This proposed increase in the investment limit for the pig and poultry sectors will provide for further investment to enhance the animal health and welfare credentials of Irish agriculture,” Minister Michael Creed said.

“We will work with stakeholders and the European Commission on finalising the proposal with a view to its introduction under an upcoming tranche of TAMs.”
