Some 200 vehicles are expected to take part in the seventh annual Bracknagh Tractor Run in aid of the Children's Medical Research Foundation, Crumlin. The event is taking place on Sunday 6 October in Co Offaly to raise vital funds for some of Ireland’s sickest children.

Registration will open on the day at 11am and it costs €20 to enter a tractor. The convoy will leave from Bracknagh at 12pm and drive a 20km route before finishing back in Bracknagh in the afternoon.

Everyone is encouraged to take part and you don’t need to bring a tractor – people can bring their lorries, motorbikes and vintage cars.

In 2013 the first Bracknagh Tractor Run raised €2,500 with 35 vehicles taking part. By 2018, the event had grown enormously raising an incredible €15,500 with 185 vehicles involved.

Family day

“It’s a real family day so you don’t need to go on the tractor run to enjoy the event,” said Eugene O’Neill, tractor run committee member. “After the run we have a BBQ, a raffle and live music.” There will also be face painting and wellie-throwing games for children’s entertainment.

“Hopefully we’ll have a lot of people attending the Bracknagh Tractor Run this weekend and will raise a lot of funds to continue helping some of Ireland’s sickest children,” said O’Neill.
