A status yellow rainfall warning has been issued for Connacht and Donegal, with Met Éireann warning that between 40mm and 50mm of rain is forecast from Friday through to Saturday.

The warning is in place from 3pm on Friday until 3pm on Saturday.

Met Éireann has said that there could be localised flooding as a result.

Wind warning

A status yellow wind warning is also in place for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Kerry.

South to southwest winds at 50km/h to 65km/h and gusts of 90km/h to 110km/h are forecast, the strongest of which will be on exposed coasts and hills.

At the coast, high seas and gales will combine to give a risk of coastal flooding, Met Éireann warned.

The warning is in place from 3pm on Friday until 11am on Saturday.
