On Monday, frost and fog will clear during the morning to leave a dry day, Met Éireann has said, with the best of the sunshine expected across south Leinster and Munster. Cloudier weather is forecast for Connacht and Ulster.
Highest afternoon temperatures on Monday will range from 6°C to 9°C generally in light southwest breezes, but fresh along western and northern coasts.
Some frost and fog is forecast on Monday night in the south and east and some midlands areas also, with lows of -2°C to 1°C.
Met Éireann has said that cloud and more of a breeze should keep temperatures to between 2°C and 6°C in western and northern counties and prevent frost there, but warned that some patchy rain could fall in the northwest.
Tuesday
It will be rather cloudy in many areas on Tuesday, especially in northern and northwestern counties where there will be some light rain or drizzle at times.
Met Éireann has said it will be mainly dry elsewhere, but there may be a little drizzle in places. Afternoon highs on Tuesday will range between 6°C and 9°C or possibly 10°C.
On Tuesday night, further patchy light rain, drizzle or fog is forecast, with temperatures between 4°C and 8°C in many areas. However, there could be clear periods in parts of the east and south, with temperatures forecast to fall here to 1°C or 2°C and a slight frost.
Wednesday
Wednesday is forecast to be a cloudy day, with many places remaining dry, but there will still be a little patchy drizzle or fog in places. Winds are forecast to be very light with afternoon highs of 7°C to 10°C.
Overall, Wednesday night will be cold and cloudy, with frost developing where there are cloud breaks, most likely in parts of the east and northeast.
Thursday and Friday
Met Éireann said that Thursday and Friday will be rather cold but mainly dry, with a good deal of cloud, but some sunny breaks at times also. Afternoon temperatures will range from 6°C to 8°C or possibly 9°C in light breezes. Frost is forecast at night where cloud breaks develop.
Next weekend
Current indications from Met Éireann show more unsettled Atlantic-type weather setting in over next weekend bringing some wet and possibly windy spells.
