The cattle kill for the week ending 28 September totalled 10,593 head, making it the highest weekly kill since 6 November 2010.

Cattle throughput during the final two weeks of September both surpassed the 10,000 head barrier.

The cattle kill has only exceeded 10,000/week on eight occasions in the past seven years.

From the start of the year to 28 September, the NI cattle kill stands at 332,379 head, compared with 329,462 during the same period in 2018 and 322,617 in 2017.
