A hill farm on the edge of Belfast is for sale by real estate firm O’Connor Kennedy Turtle (OKT).

Most of the land is on the peak known locally as Squires Hill. The farm extends to 233ac in total, and offers in excess of £1m (€1.16m) are being sought.

The property is located between Divis Mountain and Cave Hill. It has frontage on to the Upper Hightown road and it can also be accessed via laneways on to the Ballyutoag and Crumlin Roads.

The highest point on the farm is 368m above sea level, although lower lying fields on the property are made up of better-quality grassland.

There are two former quarries on the property. There are also two telecommunication masts. One of the masts has already been sold and the other remains available with the option of purchasing it along with the land.

The property could generate interest among environmental groups or companies looking to offset emissions, given that a similar sized property in the same area was sold recently for a tree plantation.
